99 teachers absent on second day after schools reopened: DEO

Concerns over teacher absenteeism in Wanaparthy district as 99 teachers fail to report for duty during the 2026–27 school reopening. Read about the local administration’s crackdown and commitment to quality education. Wanaparthy: Textbook distribution for students was held on Tuesday at the ZPHS in Pebbair. In-charge DEO Yadaiah, the chief guest, emphasised the importance of discipline and responsibility in the education system. He expressed concern that 99 teachers in the district were absent from duty on only the second day after schools reopened. If teachers who provide that education neglect their responsibilities, students’ discipline and interest in learning will suffer. Every teacher should recognise their duty, report to work on time, and serve as a role model for students,” he said. Later, public representatives stated that the government was giving special priority to development of government schools. It was committed to providing quality education to students while ensuring that schools have the necessary infrastructure and that teachers receive the facilities they need.
