CM Revanth says ‘Jai Telangana’

Former minister and Siddipet MLA Thanneeru Harish Rao said that Revanth Reddy has no moral right to speak about the Telangana movement. He said that he never said ‘Jai Telangana’ and that it was ridiculous to talk about the Revanth movement, which did not fight in the Telangana movement. Harish Rao was given a warm welcome by the activists at the Midjil mandal headquarters for the unveiling of the statue of BRS leader Venkat Reddy.

DCC chief lauds Cong’s work for tribal welfare

Wanaparthy: As part of the celebrations marking 50 years of reservations for Lambadi, Erukala, Yanadi, and other tribal communities, the Indiramma Ashirvada Bus Yatra arrived in Wanaparthy district on Saturday amid much fanfare. Local MLA Thudi Megha Reddy and Wanaparthy DCC Chief (also SATS Chairman) Shivasena Reddy extended a grand welcome to the yatra. Addressing the gathering, Shivasena hailed, “The Congress Party laid the foundation for the social and political empowerment of tribal communities. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was the visionary leader who introduced ST reservations and paved the way for the upliftment of tribal people.” He added that the Congress Party has always cared for tribal communities and worked for their welfare. Meanwhile, a bike rally was organised from Panagal Road to Ambedkar Chowrasta. Participants paid floral tributes to the statues of Dr BR Ambedkar and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Later, a public meeting related to the Bus Yatra was held at Rajiv Gandhi Chowrasta, where tribal MLAs, MLCs, Corporation Chairpersons, and Members of Parliament participated as chief guests.

BRS condemns cancellation of farmers’ meet permission

Bharat Rashtra Samithi accused the Congress government of suppressing dissent after cancelling a farmers’ meeting in Wanaparthy district. Leaders plan to approach the High Court, backing protests against the proposed Gollapalli reservoir project. The BRS accused the Congress government of suppressing dissent following the cancellation of approvals for a public meeting of farmers in Gollapalli village, scheduled on April 9. BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao was scheduled to address protesting farmers. In a statement, former Minister S Niranjan Reddy condemned the move, stating that permission was revoked after arrangements were completed. The meeting was planned in support of farmers protesting for over 100 days against the proposed Gollapalli Reservoir in Wanaparthy district.

BRS backs paddy farmers’ protest over procurement delays in Wanaparthy

BRS extended support to protesting paddy farmers in Wanaparthy demanding timely procurement. Former MLA A. Venkateshwar Reddy accused the Congress government of delays, lack of arrangements and failure to fulfil promises, alleging farmers were forced to sell produce at losses.  The Bharat Rashtra Samithi extended its support to the protest by paddy farmers demanding procurement of their stocks at Shivaji Crossroads, Kothakota here on Saturday. Former Devarakadra MLA Ala Venkateshwar Reddy participated in the protest.

Niranjan Reddy slams arrests ahead of CM’s Palamuru visit

Wanaparthy: Former Minister S Niranjan Reddy condemned the alleged detention of Telangana activists and BRS workers ahead of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s Palamuru visit and demanded their immediate release. Questioning the need for such measures, he asked whether illegal arrests were justified in the name of the Chief Minister’s security arrangements. Niranjan Reddy also criticised the timing of the tour, pointing out that farmers were still awaiting paddy procurement and implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He alleged that the aerial survey by helicopter was aimed at avoiding direct interaction with farmers. Stating that the Congress government had lost public confidence, he said people no longer believed it would fulfil its promises.
